Once again, we had an inspiration; but not just any inspiration. It involved showing the world a wedding experience underwater that included a catamaran. So we put our bride hat on and added culture, gastronomy, batucada, bikini, tanning oil and got our muse on. We knew that to make this possible we needed to contact the right wedding vendors to make it perfect just for you.
Finding the perfect water spot was a true challenge as Puerto Rico is surrounded by blue, clear waters and every corner has its own beauty. Then La Parguera, located in Lajas Puerto Rico put a sparkle in our eyes. This town is small and convenient with a variety of sea experiences that include catamarans, kayak, bio bay and water sports with a feel of small Spaniard colony right by the ocean.
The main venue of choice for this underwater experience was Gina’s @ Johnny’s boats in La Parguera with over 30 years of experience, and her new catamaran available for weddings, events and tours. In the meantime, we contacted Edwin Solano, top photographer renowned internationally who stepped it up a notch with an idea full of adventure and adrenaline which added more vendors to the style shoot. Solano said, “underwater? Yes, let’s Scuba!” We were thrilled with this concept. He got his top-of-the-line underwater by OUTEX equipment and geared up. Conveniently just next door to Gina is Paradise Scuba, they were amazing and thanks to them this was all made possible. The underwater crew (bride, groom, officiant, photographer, videographer) got the Scuba Experience course and ready they were.
The big day was here and we started with room service breakfast and bride & groom getting ready by Lizzie Ibarra H & M and On Fleek by Kidanny water proof make-up Senegence Consultant specialist at Parador Villa Parguera in Lajas. The Parador delivered with excellence with perfect accommodations and of course just a few steps from Gina’s Catamaran dock.
Bride was ready, as well as the groom. Looking fabulous with Xiomara Simó Atelier bride dress and groom by Angelo’s Tuxedo & Men’s Boutique, Natalia Liriano underwater bouquet & boutonniere and perfect for the occasion silver hand crafted wedding bands by Joel Massari. Solano and Joel shot some first look photos and video in the hotel garden and dock; and they day was- Perfect.
All of us walked next door to Gina’s dock. Yeanma and Ben along Edwin Solano photographer, private chef Sarah Rosario in charge of an intimate light seafood creole dinner and All Events special guest snack boxes full of puertorrican and vegan finger food yumminess. Joel Enrique Films our videographer of choice always, Cuca Gesualdo Weddings & Events, Sheila our brave officiant, Kidanny and Lizzie embarked in our “Go Deep, Say Yes in La Parguera”; and sailing away we went with catamaran crew who were excited and ready for us.
During our sail to our first stop Mata La Gata island more photos and video were a must by the bow of the catamaran. As we got closer to our main adventure adrenaline kept rising and we kept moving from one experience to the other quickly but sharply to meet on time with the certified divers from Paradise Scuba that would accompany us to our underwater ceremony making sure everything was safe. Until then, Solano enjoyed taking more photos and Joel droned and videographed right along in the island wood L-shaped deck, by the catamaran and inside Mata La Gata spots. After came land ceremony held by Cuca Gesualdo right by the island shore full of white stones, sand, small round table with a white wash-out chandelier and the open sea serving as background. Next to this space a coral-colored wood bench table served as setting for the wedding cake by Dulce Inspiracion and intimate dinner by private chef Sarah Rosario.
Ben & Yeanma looked warm, happy and perfect for each other.
They made each moment theirs forever. In fact, they love the ocean and couldn’t be more excited to go underwater and scuba on their love. Even though they love traditional, they were no ordinary couple.
Cuca Gesualdo took care of the details here and there with the right elements that fitted perfect with the real frame that day which was nature. The sand, blue-green water, blue sky, island ready wood tables in coral tones, perfect green mangrove paths were in harmony.
The time was approaching for the most awaited moment by everyone. Ben and Yeanma changed for their deep dip. Yeanma into a lighter, cream see through dress, no sleeve with lace, sequins and canutillo details and Ben into a black tuxedo.
It was 11:30 a. m. and Paradise Scuba arrived in their boat to Mata La Gata to meet us at the island to start our Scuba wedding ceremony. Edwin Solano Photographer, Joel Enrique Videographer, Sheila Johanna Officiant, Ben & Yeanma put on their scuba gear and underwater they went with Paradise Scuba certified instructors. Meantime in the catamaran, we couldn’t help feeling anxious to find out what was going on down under. Nothing a little fun, vitamin sea and sun couldn’t fix.
One hour passed and even a little rain; one by one made their way up. They were thrilled by the experience and quickly recovered. Feeling of satisfaction was the flavor of the day and one surprise left to go for the crew. Upon our arrival back to Gina’s @ Johnny’s Boat dock, Batucada On Fire PR, danced, sang and played their way up to us, approaching in Gina’s Catamaran. We celebrated! Celebrated because we know that you will enjoy this “Go Deep, Say Yes in La Parguera” experience and make it your own.
